Mighty Women Of God

How mighty do you think you are?  Do you talk big but think little?  Do you walk around with your head held high but inside you are as meek as mouse?  Or maybe you’re the one that talks little but thinks big.  Maybe you are the meek one on the outside but know who holds tomorrow and trusts only in Him.

Any forms of these women are ok, celebrated even.  It takes all of us from all walks of life to come together and encourage each other. Some of us need to come out of our shell a little and that’s how our outgoing, strong friends help.  Some of us need to be a little more meek and that’s how our more reserved friends can encourage us.

This blog post is the first of many about you guessed it, Women; our relationships, our friendships, our faith, and areas of growth.  See I’ve been reading a couple of books and they are really feeding my soul.  One is “Lioness Arising” by Lisa Bevere.  The other is a Beth Moore book/Bible study about Esther.  See this journey all started over a silly Facebook quiz, “Which Woman in the Bible Are You?”.  Well, it came back as Deborah.  I didn’t know a Deborah so I started studying and researching.  Then during my research, I received an email- ad from Amazon and the first book was the Lisa Bevere.  It caught my eye and I ordered it, an action I do not regret. Lastly,  I was in Lifeway this week shopping with one of my favorite shopping partners and the Beth Moore book/Bible study just jumped into my hands. So there you have it.  That’s how this all got started.  Besides the fact that the “Mighty Women of God” has been on my mind for the last month.

I think of all the women in the Bible and wonder; “What would I have done in those times?”, “I wonder how it was growing up and living in Biblical times” and my mind just wonders. Then I think about all the Mighty Women of God that I have surrounded myself with.  The ones that are my prayer warriors, the ones that are my counselors, the ones that are my rocks in time of need.  Then I think of all the women that I can/could pour into and ask myself the questions I started this blog out with.  I think,  “Am I strong enough?”, “Do I know enough about the Bible and what it says?”, “Is this really God’s purpose for my life?”, “How can God use me?  I’m not anything outstandingly special.”  Well, in the last few days/weeks, I have come up with some answers to these questions.  That’s what we are going to do. We are going to take a journey through what I have learned so far and maybe, just maybe, something will speak to you and you will be off on your own journey.  It has been quiet the ride for me.

Things to ponder before next post:

What does God want me to do?  Am I doing it or taking steps to accomplish it?

What Mighty Woman of God would I be or want to be in the Bible?

Are you someone that is pouring into your “sisters” or Are you one that needs to be poured into?  We are all both of these in different times in our lives, sometimes the same time.

Bible Verses to Remember: Some of these are on my bathroom mirror or desk just to remind me of who I am.

“God is within her, she will not fall.”  Psalm 46:5

“She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.” Proverbs 31:25 *My favorite

“Blessed is she who believed that the Lord would fulfill His promises to her.” Luke 1:45

“You are beautiful for you are fearfully and wonderfully made” Psalm 139:14 *Another Favorite

  1. Again love love love! So amazing that I myself haves been called a Deborah many times. I haven’t did tons of research on it but I know a few things about her position in the Bible. So very encouraging this morning. That Proverbs 31:25 been very highlighted this past week. So I love seeing that today as one of yours. Very confirming for me. Thanks
